Committed to reducing the supply of and demand for illicit tobacco

Tackling illicit tobacco in your communities

The North of England Tackling Illicit Tobacco for Better Health Programme is a world-first.  It brings together health and enforcement partners and combines their expertise to reduce the demand for and supply of illegal tobacco.

We have published 'Tackling illicit tobacco in your communities: How the North of England experience can help,' a guide to share the experiences of the North of England programme and to offer support to other jurisdictions, regions and localities who would like to benefit from it.

We can help you to address the problems caused by illicit tobacco in your communities.  We can offer strategic and practical guidance on:

  • Making the case for tackling illicit tobacco
  • Building effective partnerships between different agencies
  • Developing systems to generate intelligence and deliver enforcement
  • Gathering insight and planning marketing campaigns.

We also have a range of publications and supporting materials, backed by a programme team who can provide tailored support for workshops, conferences, research, campaigns and programme development.
